Fuelling your community

Your home is our home. Co-op contributes to a vibrant community by creating jobs, working with other local businesses and giving back to local organizations. We’ve invested more than $500 million back into our facilities in Western Canada over the past five years. And by fuelling up with Co-op, you’re receiving a quality Canadian product with the opportunity for equity and cash back.

Swan Valley Co-op

Fuelling our local organizations!

On the third Wednesday of every month we run our fuel fundraiser. We donate two cents per litre from the sales of the day to a local group or organization that are fundraising at the time. Groups email Swan Valley Co-op with what they are fundraising for and if it falls within our guidelines we book them in. We are always booked more than a year in advance.

We typically sell more than 20,000 litres for the day so we are raising $400 to $500. Some groups love to get involved and promote our fuel fundraiser through their group so there have been days when we have sold more than 30,000 litres of fuel. It is a great way to support the community and sell fuel.

Parkland Co-op

Fuelling our local farmers!

We are a major sponsor for the Hudson Bay Rotary Grow Project. Together with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, the Rotary Club farms a quarter of land west of Hudson Bay with half of the net proceeds going to local youth and community projects. For the past four years, Parkland Co-op has and continues to reimburse fuel for the combines, tractors and semi-trailers involved in this project.

Sherwood Co-op

Fuelling our local food banks and hospitals!

Hoping to make a bigger impact on some very deserving organizations, three years ago the campaign Fuel Up to Feed was created. On one specific day in October, Sherwood Co-op donated 10 cents for every litre of fuel sold to the Regina Food Bank.

This day was so well received by our members that a second day in February called Litres for Little Ones was started to benefit Regina General Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Last year, the Co-op Refinery Complex took note of our contributions and wanted to help their community as well. They agreed to match our 10 cents per litre with 10 cents of their own for each charity.

In the past three years of Fuel Up to Feed, more than $120,000 has been donated to the Regina Food Bank. In the past two years of Litres for Little Ones, more than $100,000 has been donated to Regina General Hospital’s NICU.

Ste. Anne Co-op

Fuelling our local festivals!

Ste. Anne Co-op donates thousands of dollars in sponsorships through various local charities, teams and associations. We also participate in various community parades, as well as sponsor, attend and provide giveaways at car shows and events, such as the Summer in the City festival.

One of the biggest events that we supported this year was the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games hosted in Steinbach. We came in as a diamond-level sponsor and participated by:

  • Fuelling buses used to transport athletes from the athletes village to the various venues throughout the week.
  • Selling Summer Games’ gear at our retail locations at no cost to them.
  • Donating water bottles for all the athletes.
  • Providing goodie bags for all the volunteers, including coupons for discounted Chillers.
  • Promoting the event at our gas bar locations, on the reader boards, social media and in our paid advertising channels (online, newspaper, etc.).
  • Purchasing Summer Games shirts for our staff to use leading up to the games.
  • Encouraging our staff to create a volunteer team and sign up to volunteer together.

We are proud to support our community!
