CO-OP® FLEX E-85 GASOLINE™ is a high-quality, clean-burning gasoline blended with a higher level of ethanol than traditional gasoline. While traditional gasoline can contain up to 10 per cent ethanol, E-85 gasoline contains between 51 per cent and 83 per cent ethanol and should be used exclusively in flex-fuel vehicles.
Compared with traditional gasoline, Co-op Flex E-85 is proven to reduce tailpipe emissions, including greenhouse gases, smog and particulate emissions. Depending on the source of ethanol, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 35 per cent through the use of Flex E-85 fuel. Co-op Flex E-85 is manufactured in accordance with national automotive ethanol fuel specifications and provides exceptional performance in any weather condition.
Performance features:
- Proprietary detergency package assists in removal of combustion-related deposits
- High octane level resists knocking and improves efficiency and performance in high-compression flex-fuel vehicles
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared with traditional gasoline
- Evaporative cooling of ethanol improves performance in turbocharged vehicles
Do you drive a flex-fuel vehicle?
There are four ways to help you determine if you drive a flex-fuel vehicle:
1. Vehicle badges
Badges on your vehicle’s body with terms such as “E85,” “FlexFuel” or “FFV” may indicate that your vehicle can take E-85 fuel.

2. Fuel door
Some FFVs have labels on the fuel door indicating fuel type.

3. Yellow gas cap or fuel filler ring
Most manufacturers started putting yellow gas caps on FFVs as of the 2008 model year (2006 for General Motors). Some capless fuel fillers have a yellow ring where you insert the fuel nozzle.

4. Owner’s manual
The owner’s manual usually specifies which fuels can be used in your vehicle. If you don’t have a manual, it may be available on the manufacturer’s website.
